S.F. Archbishop’s Imposition Of Morality Clause At Schools Outrages Manyposted on February 12, 2015
The Los Angeles Times’ Lee Romney reports that San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone sparked controversy this week by issuing a new handbook for employees of Catholic schools that contains a morality clause requiring them to condemn gay marriage, contraception and abortion, among other things. This is not the first time Cordileone has acted out against same-sex marriage, as over the summer, the Archbishop took part in a march in Washington D.C. to protest the issue. “When people in Catholic institutions endorse such views, it creates a toxic confusion about our fundamental values among both students and others in society at large,” Cordileone said.
