Will the Religious Left Become the New “Moral Majority”?

At The Atlantic, Jonathan Merritt discusses the Religious Left, their rise in popularity, and the obstacles they face in their quest to become the new “Moral Majority.” He writes, “[T]he data indicate that the growth of religious progressives may soon shift a balance of power that has existed for more than a quarter century. The conservative faithful will continue to have a voice in the public square, at least for some time. But now they’ll have to learn to sing in harmony, rather than solo.”
