White House Honors Evangelicals “For All the Good Work They Do”
posted on August 30, 2018Religion News Service’s Emily McFarlan Miller and Jack Jenkins report, “The White House hosted a dinner Monday night (Aug. 27) for about 100 evangelical Christian leaders and senior-level officials, honoring evangelicals, as one participant explained, ‘for all the good work they do.”’ President Trump spoke during the dinner, reminding Christian leaders to encourage their supporters to vote on Election Day in November. In a closing remark, the president said, “The support you’ve given me has been incredible, but I really don’t feel guilty because I have given you a lot back — just about everything I promised.”
