Using Christianity to Fight Crime

At The Atlantic, Ray Downs writes about Operation Good Shepard, “a publicly funded Christian outreach ministry started by the Montgomery Police Department that puts Christian pastors on crime scenes to counsel and pray with victims and witnesses.” The legality of the program is up for debate, as some see it as a potential violation of the Establishment Clause and there is no scientific evidence to support the program.
