U.S. Asks Justices to Reject California’s Ban on Gay Marriage

At the New York Times, Adam Liptak and John Schwartz report on the Obama administration’s decision to “throw its support behind a broad claim for marriage equality, urging the Supreme Court to rule that voters in California were not entitled to ban same-sex marriage there.” The Court will likely address the question of the constitutionality of same sex marriage on March 26.
