Trump-Loving Christians Owe Bill Clinton an Apology
posted on August 10, 2016At The Atlantic, Jonathan Merritt writes that although many evangelicals support Donald Trump, he shares many of the traits for which the religious right attacked Bill Clinton in the 1990s. Trump has had three wives, is widely thought to have had multiple extramarital affairs, and had a child out-of-wedlock with his second wife. Merritt writes, “Trump’s character clashes with evangelical ethics in ways that would have killed Clinton’s political career two decades ago.”
