Friedman wrote that though Michigan’s ban was defended as the will of the people, “state defendants lost sight of what this case is truly about: people.” Pennsylvania judge John E. Jones III penned yesterday that “we are a better people than what these laws represent, and it is time to discard them into the ash heap of history.”
