Taking to the Pulpit Against Climate Change
posted on July 15, 2014In USA Today, Gregg Zoroya reports on the vanguard of U.S. religious leaders encouraging a “faith-based embrace” of climate change. Many religious leaders have used Biblical teachings about stewardship of the planet to appeal to the faithful, but preaching climate change to evangelicals remains a tough sell. “As an assemblage of different churches and denominations without an all-encompassing hierarchy, evangelicals tend to be less receptive to outside clerics,” Zoroya writes, as both interfaith efforts and some evangelical leaders press congregations to reconsider.
