Spying on Muslims
posted on September 9, 2013The New York Times Editorial Board writes on new information gained from an Associated Press report about the New York City Police Department’s surveillance program of area Muslims. According to the report, more than a dozen mosques were designated as terrorist organizations to justify open-ended “terrorism enterprise investigations.” The board writes, “The new information further confirms the wisdom of the City’s Council’s approval of a law … to establish a police inspector general who can serve as a check against police abuses in the future.”
