Some Are Writing Obituaries for American Religion. Krista Tippett Is Documenting its Revolution.

posted on April 8, 2016

The Washington Post’s Michelle Boorstein talks with On Being host Krista Tippett about her new book, Becoming Wise. On the so-called “nones” or religiously unaffiliated, Tippett says, “I like language of moral imagination. What Nones’ morality is about is moral integrity. Being born into a world where you had these strident, hateful, polarizing voices speaking in name of religion, speaking in the name of God, in the name of Christianity … I think what they want is a consonance between what people believe in and how they live, what they believe in and how they treat others.”  Tippett is a member of the National Advisory Board of the John C. Danforth Center on Religion & Politics, which publishes this journal.
