Shimon Peres, Israeli Statesman and Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Dies at 93

At The Washington Post, Robin Shulman reports that Shimon Peres has died at age 93 due to complications from a stroke. She writes, “Mr. Peres, who held nearly every high office in his country and whose influence spanned 10 U.S. presidencies, was the last of a generation of politicians who came of age as Israel did and helped guide it through regional conflicts and economic restructuring.” In 1994, Peres shared the Nobel Peace Prize for helping broker a short-lived peace process between Israelis and Palestinians.
