Republicans Denounce Trump as Confrontation with Muslim Parents Escalates
posted on August 1, 2016At The Washington Post, Katie Zezima writes that several Republican leaders have criticized Donald Trump for his feud with Khizr and Ghazala Khan, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention and who are the Muslim parents of an American soldier killed in Iraq. Lindsey Graham, Jeb Bush, and John McCain are among those who have denounced Trump’s statements. Zezima writes, “The clash between the Khans and Trump has largely taken over the presidential race following both major party conventions and with 99 days before Election Day.”
