Protest of BYU Planned in Wake of Honor Code Criticismsposted on April 20, 2016
Annie Knox of The Salt Lake Tribune reports that a Brigham Young University student has filed a federal complaint against the school because she alleges the school denied her access to special services after she reported her rape. The university did not allow her to retroactively withdraw from two courses, citing BYU’s notoriously strict honor code. “They’re telling me that they can’t prove that a rape occurred,” said Madi Barney, who is bringing the complaint against the school.
