Politics of Religious Freedom in South Africa
posted on July 25, 2012At The Immanent Frame Waheeda Amien, a senior lecturer in Law at the University of Cape Town, discusses the difference between religious freedom in the U.S. and South Africa. Amien writes that in America, discussions of religious freedom center on “the extent to which religion can be excluded from the public domain,” whereas in South Africa, the debate is over “the extent to which [religion] can be accommodated.”
