posted on October 11, 2018

The Atlantic’s Emma Green writes about the findings of a poll conducted by The Atlantic and Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI), which found heightened political engagement among religiously unaffiliated, Democratic voters. These findings reveal a shift in the Democratic Party, which had a stronger base of religious voters about a decade ago. Green writes, “Religiously unaffiliated Democrats were more than twice as likely to have attended a rally within the past 12 months compared with their religious peers. During that time, they were significantly more likely to have contacted an elected official or to have donated to a candidate or cause.”
