Ohio Town Latest Focus of Religion Legal Debate

Dan Sewell of the Associated Press reports on the religious debate over a portrait of Jesus hung in a public middle school in Jackson, Ohio. The middle school is currently facing a federal lawsuit for the alleged endorsement of religion in a public school. Those opposed to taking down the portrait cite students’ right to freedom from censorship. Other residents, such as Clarence Rice, just wants his town to be left alone. “I don’t think these outside groups should be involved,” he said. “It’s none of their business. It’s been there 65 years.”
