Northwestern President Calls on United to Apologize to Muslim Chaplain

In The Chicago Tribune, Manya Brachear Pashman writes, “The president of Northwestern University has called on United Airlines to formally apologize to the school’s Muslim chaplain, whose claim of discrimination on a flight from Chicago has sparked a social media campaign and boycott.” Tahera Ahmad alleges that a United flight attendant refused to give her an unopened can of soda, though she had given an unopened can to another passenger. Though the airline claims to have apologized, the university president wants further action.
