North Korea Frees Australian Missionaryposted on March 3, 2014
Dana Ford and Tim Schwarz of CNN report that North Korea has freed Australian John Short, a 75-year-old Christian missionary who was arrested last month. The state-run Korean Central News Agency said Short committed a criminal act by handing out Bibles around a Buddhist temple and on a train in Pyongyang, but the country released him after he published an apology. “I realize that my actions are an indelible hostile act against the independent right and law of the DPRK,” Short reportedly wrote.
