N.J. Gov. Christie Walks A Fine Line On Gay Marriage
posted on July 19, 2013Martha T. More of USA Today reports that Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is caught between two constituencies on gay marriage. Voters in the blue state of New Jersey favor same-sex marriage, but if Christie seeks a presidential bid, Republican caucus-goers in Iowa oppose it. Christie, who vetoed same-sex marriage legislation then called for a referendum, said, “I don’t have to compromise my principles that I believe in and someone else doesn’t have to compromise theirs.”
