N.C. Minorities Remain Worried After Religion Bill is Pulled

Despite the fact that a North Carolina bill calling for the establishment of a state-sanctioned religion was pulled, religious minorities in the state still worry about its implications, reports Amanda Greene for Religion News Service. Manzoor Cheema, a Muslim resident of Raleigh and board member of the Triangle Interfaith Alliance, believes that the bill “should be a wake-up call”: “I think this is a very disturbing development; very bad for our state … But it’s a blessing in disguise to mobilize the interfaith community in North Carolina.”
