Liberia Conquers Ebola, But Faces a Crisis of Faith

In The New York Times, Norimitsu Onishi reports that though the Ebola crisis has ended in Liberia, its effects may still be felt in some Liberian churches. “The sick, unable or unwilling to seek treatment, were sometimes brought for prayers inside churches, which became sanctuaries for them,” Onishi writes. “But the practice also ended up spreading the virus.” Now, with the danger officially over, church members are struggling to deal with the aftermath of the virus and low attendance.
