Lawyer for Arbery’s Family on Objection to Black Pastors in Court: “We Are Going to Bring 100”

Hannah Knowles of The Washington Post reports that Kevin Gough, the defense attorney for one of the men on trial for killing Ahmaud Arbery, requested that no more Black pastors be allowed in the courtroom so as not to influence the jury. His petition was denied by the judge, and he has since walked backed his comments. Ben Crump, a lawyer for Ahmed Arbery’s family, said, “We are going to bring 100 Black pastors to pray with the family next week, and we welcome all those who want to show their support and add their prayers to ours.”
