Hope Amid Disaster: Sermons After the Boston Bombings

posted on April 22, 2013

Elizabeth Dias of TIME shares refections from religious leaders across the country after the Boston terrorist attacks. Dias writes, “Here are reflections of hope from the pastor of a Copley Square church in Boston, a small-town Ohio pastor, a preacher in Durham, an African-American megachurch reverend in Virginia, a Los Angeles rabbi, a husband-wife co-pastor team of a Latino-Chinese church in New York City, and a Catholic father in Missouri. They offer an antidote to the violence that has doused us all this week.” The Rev. Samuel T. Lloyd III of Boston’s Trinity Episcopal Church told Dias that “carrying on our lives as creatively as we can, with acts of mercy love and justice ultimately is the defeat of everything the terrorists are out to do.”
