George W. Bush Still Plans to Appear at Jews-for-Jesus-like Event Tonight

At Mother Jones, Sarah Posner reports, “Despite an uproar in the Jewish community, former president George W. Bush is still slated to deliver the keynote address to a fundraiser for the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute.” The MJBI actively seeks converts because they believe Christ will return to earth if enough Jews acknowledge Jesus as the messiah. Rabbi David Saperstein, director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, said on MSNBC, “How do you have a respectful relationship if the measure of success of one group is the ending of the other group by having them convert away from their own religion?”
