Faith Groups Get Out the Vote for the Midterm Elections

For NPR, Jerome Socolovsky reports that faith-based campaigns are mobilizing both conservatives and liberals for November’s midterm elections. Rachel Holm, the registrar at the progressive Virginia Theological Seminary, recently hosted a get-out-the-vote event aimed at millennial voters. Dillon Green, a first year student who attended the event, said, “I believe in Jesus Christ AND I believe in liberal progressive values.” Socolovsky adds that the conservative James Dobson Family Institute in Colorado Springs is also trying to rally constituents with a “Pray. Engage. Vote” initiative.
