Coroner Names 9 Slain in Downtown Charleston Church Shooting
posted on June 18, 2015At The Post and Courier, Andrew Knapp reports on the shooting that took place at Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston, South Carolina, on Wednesday night. The nine people killed in the shooting have been identified, including State Senator Clementa Pinckney, who was also a pastor at the church. James Johnson, a member of the National Action Network and a friend of Sen. Pinckney, said, “It’s very numb; it’s sad. No one expects to go to church to worship their God and be shot.”
