Conservative Women Are Angry About Kavanaugh – And They Think Other Voters Are, Too

The Atlantic’s Emma Green writes about female conservatives’ responses to sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. After interviewing conservative women leaders, Green found, “They are not convinced by Ford or any other woman who has come forward. They resent the implication that all women should support the accusers.” Melody Potter, the chairwoman of the West Virginia Republican Party, said, “I’ve got women in my church who were not politically active at all who were incensed with this.” Green adds, “Contrary to what some liberal pundits have claimed, however, the women I spoke with did not downplay the seriousness of sexual assault.”
