Boy Scouts Committee Approves Allowing Gay Adults as Leadersposted on July 14, 2015
Reuters’ Marice Richter reports that the Boy Scouts of America Executive Committee approved a proposal allowing openly gay adults to serve as scout leaders. The resolution frees chartered organizations to select leaders regardless of sexual orientation and joins a 2013 resolution lifting the Scouts’ ban on gay youth. “The Boy Scouts said in the statement the move reflected ‘the rapid changes in society and increasing legal challenges at the federal, state and local levels,” Richter writes.
