Billy Graham, Mourned as a Child of God, Is Laid to Rest Near His Childhood Home
posted on March 5, 2018Religion News Service’s Yonrat Shimron reports that the Rev. Billy Graham was buried on Friday near his childhood home outside Charlotte, North Carolina. The 2,000 guests invited to Graham’s funeral included representatives from the Catholic and Orthodox traditions, 100 international delegates, and both Democratic and Republican politicians. Shimron writes, “With his childhood home as a backdrop, Billy Graham was celebrated as a man of God at his funeral, the closing chapter of a century-long story in American evangelical history.”
