Barbara Willke, Godmother of Modern Pro-Life Movement, Passes Away
posted on April 16, 2013“Barbara Willke, who was often considered the godmother of the modern-day pro-life movement, has passed away,” reports Steven Ertelt of LifeNews. Willke traveled the country advocating for the anti-abortion movement before and after Roe v. Wade; she eventually co-founded and chaired the Right to Life organization with her husband. “Mrs. Willke was a woman of courage and intelligence whose lifelong commitment to preserving the sanctity of human life is a moving legacy,” said Paula Westwood, executive director of the Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati. “No one can fill her shoes.”
