posted on August 12, 2015In The New Republic, Jen Percy reports on the Assyrian Christian militias fighting ISIS in the Middle East, and the ideological war fueling the conflict. “Each faith is fighting over the same questions they were fighting over when their theologies developed, which is really the question of which culture will be dominant, whose God, or whose version of God, will be the better God,” Percy writes. “This fight has meaning not only here but around the world, and its battlegrounds inexorably draw the faithful to its violence.”
