A New Mormon Temple Opens in Philadelphia, Offering a Glimpse into a Secret Shrine
posted on August 8, 2016The Washington Post’s Julie Zauzmer writes that a new Mormon temple in Philadelphia will hold public open houses from Monday until it closes to non-Mormons following its September 18 dedication. The LDS Church allows only practicing members inside its 151 existing temples. Zauzmer writes, “A tour of the temple reveals not just the lavish art and furnishings inside, but also the religious rituals that the building’s layout shapes.”
