A Jewish Journalist’s Exclusive Look Inside Iran
posted on August 12, 2015In The Forward, Larry Cohler-Esses, the first journalist from a Jewish, pro-Israel publication to be granted a visa to Iran since the 1979 revolution, reports on the attitudes there towards Israel and the nuclear deal. While the government stands firmly opposed to Israel, many insisted that Israel’s policies, not its existence, were the problem. Cohler-Esses writes, “Far from the stereotype of a fascist Islamic state, I found a dynamic push-and-pull between a theocratic government and its often reluctant and resisting people.”
