The Deep Disgust for Hillary Clinton that Drives So Many Evangelicals to Support Trump
posted on October 10, 2016At The Washington Post, Sarah Pulliam Bailey analyzes the aversion that many evangelicals have for Hillary Clinton, even though she is a lifelong Methodist and Donald Trump’s behavior is often “deemed un-Christ-like.” Pulliam Bailey writes, “She symbolizes much that runs against their beliefs: abortion rights advocacy, feminism and, conversely, a rejection of biblical ideas of femininity and womanhood.” She continues, “Three-quarters of evangelicals cited dislike for Clinton as a major reason they support Trump, according to a recent Pew Research poll.”
