Obama Judicial Nominee Questioned On Abortion, Religion

USA Today’s Richard Wolf reports that Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee are examining President Obama’s nominations to fill the three vacancies in the federal appeals court for the District of Columbia Circuit. Leading the charge, conservative Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee accused President Obama of packing the nation’s second most powerful court with liberals and questioned their stances on abortion, contraception and religious freedom. Cruz said the nominations are “an attempt by this administration to pack that court, because the D.C. Circuit has been one of the few restraints on government power exercised by the Obama administration.”
