At Middlebury College, Muslim Chaplaincy Is a Husband and Wife Affair

For Religion News Service, Julie Poucher Harbin profiles Beau Latif Scurich and Naila Baloch, the married couple that serve as Muslim co-chaplains for Middlebury College. Baloch, who grew up in Pakistan, and Scurich, an American convert to Islam, use their experiences to serve a wide variety of students. “As a pair they bring a great mix to the table, because their own journeys represent in particular ways what some of our own students are experiencing,” Laurie Jordan, the chaplain of the college, said.
