One Church’s Sunset Means a New Day for Another

The Washington Post’s Stephanie McCrummen reports on a Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Baptist church that it is undergoing a rare change: it has been bought by an Arab Southern Baptist group. “Not long ago, none of this would be happening. There would be no dying traditional Southern Baptist church and no Arab Southern Baptist congregation to buy it,” McCrummen writes. But declining numbers in Baptist churches and an influx of immigrants to Murfreesboro have introduced diversity to the church on Scenic Drive.
