Is It Possible for Methodists to Agree to Disagree on Gay Marriage?

At The Washington Post, Michelle Boorstein writes, “Facing possible schism between those who support and oppose same-sex marriage, United Methodists are attempting to settle differences through intimate mediation processes called ‘just resolutions.’” Changes to the Methodist Book of Discipline, which states that homosexuality is “incompatible” with Christianity, will be put to a vote at the church’s 2016 General Conference, Boorstein reports, writing, “In the meantime, true compromise appears elusive.”
