63 Abducted Women, Girls Escape from Boko Haram

At CNN, Aminu Abubakar and Holly Yan report, “Sixty-three women and girls kidnapped by Boko Haram last month in Nigeria escaped from their captors and have returned to their burnt village, a security source and a local vigilante fighting the militant group said.” The Islamist terror group abducted an estimated 276 girls in April from a school in northeastern Nigeria, provoking international condemnation for both the kidnapping and the Nigerian government’s apparently lackluster response. About 200 girls remain captive, the authors report.
