Bobby Jindal Courts Religious Right with His Eye on 2016

BuzzFeed’s McKay Coppins reports on Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal’s efforts to woo the religious right in advance of a potential presidential run in 2016. Jindal, a Catholic convert from Hinduism, has been working to “refine his pitch” to the organized religious conservative community, giving policy speeches that focus on liberals’ attacks on religious freedom and highlighting his own conviction, and at least one prominent activist is convinced. Michael Farris, the founder of Patrick Henry College, said, “I think he’s a top-tier candidate and he’ll resonate a lot with that community.”
