Mormon Woman Awaits Decision on Excommunication

The Associated Press’s Michelle Price and Brady McCombs report on Kate Kelly’s wait to find out the results of Sunday’s disciplinary hearing that could leave her excommunicated from the Mormon Church. Kelly, who founded the group Ordain Women, which calls for gender equality in the Mormon Church, should find out the committee’s ruling on the charge of apostasy on Monday. No matter the results of the hearing, however, Kelly says she will continue to be Mormon. “I don’t feel like Mormonism is something that washes off,” Kelly said. “That identity is not something they can take from me.”
