Presbyterians Vote to Allow Gay Marriage

Religion News Service’s Lauren Markoe reports on the Presbyterian Church USA’s vote Thursday to allow its pastors to perform same-sex marriages where they are legal. The vote, which took place at the 1.8 million-member PCUSA’s General Assembly meeting in Detroit, comes only two years after a similar resolution was narrowly defeated at the last General Assembly meeting. This time, it passed with 76 percent of the vote.
