Pope Dives Into Mideast Peace With Prayer Summit

Nicole Winfield of the Associated Press reports on Pope Francis hosting Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for evening prayers on Sunday.  The Jewish, Christian, and Muslim prayers were conducted in Hebrew, English, Arabic, and Italian and focused on common themes relating to forgiveness and peace. “Peacemaking calls for courage, much more so than warfare,” Pope Francis said. “It calls for the courage to say yes to encounter and no to conflict.”
