Liberty University Responds to Complaints about Glenn Beck Sermon

Jonathan Merritt of Religion News Service reports on the response issued from Liberty University after TV and radio host Glenn Beck preached at the school last month. Beck  had referenced Mormon theology in his talk, prompting complaints to the university. Johnnie Moore, senior vice-president of communications, sent out an email saying that Beck, of whom some evangelicals have said “has had a born again experience recently,”  presented students with an opportunity to learn about different beliefs. Moore quoted Liberty’s founder, Jerry Falwell, Sr., that “Liberty students are smart enough to eat the fish and spit out the bones.”
