Dublin-Monaghan: Ireland’s Unsolved Bomb Massacre 40 Years On

It has been 40 years this week since an unsolved bomb massacre killed 33 people in Ireland in the most lethal attack of the Troubles. Diarmaid Fleming of the BBC reports that survivors and relatives of the victims have decided to sue the British government. “No-one was ever charged in connection with the atrocities on 17 May 1974,” Fleming writes. “Survivors and relatives of victims have never given up trying to find out the truth – with continuing allegations of collusion between the UVF militants responsible and elements of the British security and intelligence services.”
