Churches to Honour Victims as Washington State Mudslide Death Toll Climbs

Jonathan Kaminsky and Bryan Cohen of Reuters report, “Churches planned services on Sunday to offer prayers for the victims of last week’s devastating mudslide in Washington state as the death toll from the disaster kept rising but the number of missing fell sharply.” The mudslide struck the northeast of Seattle on March 22 following heavy rains, with the official death toll at 28. “That’s going to be hallowed ground out there,” said Ron Brown, a Snohomish County official.
