How the State Department is Getting Religion

Paul Brandeis Raushenbush of The Huffington Post interviews Shaun Casey, a professor of theology at Wesley Theological Seminary, who heads the new Office of Faith-Based Community Initiatives at the State Department. Casey said, “There was never an office like this and there is universal affirmation that the State Department needs a capacity to understand the political and social implications of lived religion across the globe in order to advance our foreign policy.”
