Morsi’s Chaotic Day in Court

Peter Hessler of The New Yorker recounts the whirlwind first day in court of Mohamed Morsi. In the same chamber that had hosted Hosni Mubarak’s trial, members of the Muslim Brotherhood and journalists heatedly exchanged shouts over the fate of the ousted Egyptian President. While Morsi’s supporters cried injustice, many journalists responded by chanting, “E’adam, e’adam! Death penalty, death penalty!”
