From Grief to Grace: Wife of Amish Schoolhouse Shooter Breaks Her Silence

Daniel Burke of CNN talks to Marie Monville, former wife of Charlie Roberts, who, in 2006, killed five girls and himself in an Amish schoolhouse. Now stepping into the public eye with her upcoming book, One Light Still Shines, Monville writes, “I felt deserted, left behind to bear the weight of the world’s judgment and questions alone, and I felt that weight pressing me down.” Recalling the shooting and its aftermath, Monville details the struggle to explain the tragedy to her children, to finding new love. She writes, “Over and over again. (God) broke though my pain, revealed his presence, and restored my hope.”
