Smoke Pours from Kenya Mall as Forces “Close In”

Reuters reports on the developing hostage situation in the Westgate shopping center in Nairobi, Kenya. The raid, entering its third day on Monday and led by members of the Somalia’s Al-Shabaab, has resulted in the death of at least 62 people. In a news conference, Kenyan Interior Minister Ole Lenku announced that three of the militants had been killed and that Kenyan forces currently control most of the building. “We are doing anything reasonably possible, cautiously though, to bring this process to an end,” he said.
